Thanks for telling me about this forum. I agree things like the strap are gone forever. I had the strap so often in school I can't remember them all. In those days that's what happened. It's different today. I don't know if it's better or worse, but it's different. I can say that getting the strap only hurt at the time and likely did me some good. It got your attention, that's for sure. Mrs. Leslie was the one who used the strap most and I had her as a home room teacher for two years. Many times she ordered me into the back cloakroom and followed me down the asile carrying her strap for the whole room to see. While the rest of the room was told to be quiet and do their work she and I would make noise! She made cracking noises and after the third or fourth crack noise I added painful cries for mercy to her music.

In the second year her daughter Brenda was in the class and she also got the strap often. I think Mrs. Leslie was tougher on her than the rest of us. When you got the strap at school you had to take a note home to be signed and for many of us that meant a spanking. I heard from another girl in the class that if Brenda got the strap at school, like the rest of us she also got spanked again at home. That Mrs. Leslie was a tough lady.
