Hey, Hank, my name's not really Jeb, and I'm not really a Rebel, but after being in Portland, Oregon, and Albany, NY, I find myself living south of the Mason-Dixon line, so that qualifies me as "Johhny Reb", eh? I'm now in Hagerstown, MD, and though no one here seems confederate, backwoodsy, hick, or southern in any way, that (the Mason-Dixon line) WAS the definition of where North meets south, right?

For reasons I won't go into, I was interested in Florence Warner 15 or so years ago, but then she seemed to have vanished. She did a commercial in the late eighties called, I think, "Pennsylvania Sings." She really had an upbeat, catchy sound to her voice, and I wondered why she wasn't a rock star, or at least a pop star.

Since I don't have any of her records, does anyone know where I can at least hear Florence's voice?

Thanks,

Mary Lann

Hi, Hank the Yank and Jeb the Reb and all you Florence Warner lovers. I don't post on sites like this, but I enjoy reading them. I don't have an internet name, but I formerly was in New York and now live on the outskirts of Frankfort, KY, so I hope "Yank the Frank" will suffice.

By now, I guess you know, Hank and Jeb, you can buy the "GRAIL" CD which has Florence prominently on two songs and with bit parts or duets on others. The woman has a superb voice, but sometimes it takes far more than talent to make it in the music business. Gotta admit, though, when I heard Florence in 1974, and when I saw all the big names on her record, I thought she was going to be a force to be reckoned with on the music scene. I'd love to know her whole story.

Maybe someday.
