Alright, I went 7/8 in the 1st round, which even surprises me. If that damn Calgary team would've played some hockey on the road I may have gone perfect. Anyways, here's my round 2 predictions:

Eastern Conference:

(1) Buffalo Sabres vs. (6) New York Rangers

I would've said Buffalo easily if I knew this matchup happened in the 1st round, but after the Rangers manhandled Atlanta. But I still believe Buffalo has too much firepower to lose to the Rangers, even though Lundqvist has been pretty hot the last half of this year. I think the Rangers will take them to the limit.

Buffalo in 7

(2) New Jersey Devils vs. (4) Ottawa Senators

New Jersey wins the goaltending battle, now that Brodeur woke up in the final 3 games of the series against Tampa Bay. Ottawa has the best line of the two teams, but if New Jersey can shut that line down, it doesn't leave much for Ottawa to play with, unless Chris Kelly continues his hot streak, or Comrie steps up to play. I do think that Heatley/Alfredsson/Spezza will take care of business this time though.

Ottawa in 6

Western Conference

(1) Detroit Red Wings vs. (5) San Jose Sharks

This is my toss up of the first round. Detroit seems to finally be playing well in the playoffs now, but San Jose is no Calgary Flames, and Detroit won't be able to walk all over them at home like Calgary. Unless Hasek can slinky-save his way through this series, I think Thornton and Cheechoo will be able to outplay the Wings

San Jose in 5

(2) Anahiem "not so Mighty" Ducks vs. (3) Vancouver Canucks

This is like Ottawa/New Jersey. Better goalie is on Vancouver, hands down. If it wasn't for Luongo, the Ducks would be playing the Sharks tomorrow night, bottom line. The Canucks will be depending on players not named Sedin and Naslund to produce more and more, as those three got shutdown for a majority of round one. Players like Linden, Morrison, Bulis and Pyatt need to step up in this series. If Matt Cooke can return, that would be a huge bonus. Shutting down Pronger/Neidermayer will also be a challenge for the Canucks, and Selanne has proven to be a leathal force out there still. I think this will go the distance as well.

Canucks in 7
