They were not winning 27 in a row to win the stanley cup. They hadn't played since last saturday while Carolina had like 3 days off which is a lot better then 7 or 6. Its hard to get up to play a hockey game when you haven't done so in awhile. Oh well like you said its only game one, that is why they play 7.
