Subject: A connection between Danielle Rousseau and Marvin Candle?

At Comic-Con, the Lost panel hinted that we'll learn more of Rousseau's backstory and not necessarily through flashbacks. In looking over Rousseau's backstory on Lostpedia, I caught this:
"Montand was a member of the Science Team that crashed onto the island 16 years before the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. Montand lost his arm while on a trek through the La Territoire Foncé."

Which brings me to the most recent video by "Marvin Candle" in which he claims to reveal his 'real name' of Pierre Chang. I thought it odd that his first name was Pierre. We know "Marvin Candle" has used at least two other pseudonyms - Edgar Halliwax and Mark Wickman. The name "Pierre" seems to mesh more nicely with another name...Montand. Could Marvin Candle have been a Dharma mole on Rousseau's science team? We don't know that the whole team was French, but I think it's a reasonalbe assumption.

"Pierre" says in the latest video that he knows he will die on the island in a "violent purge" -- but is it necessarily the Other's Purge? Or could it have been Danielle's violent "purge" of her team members? Also, we only have her word that they had a "sickness" -- could Danielle instead have suffered a derangement that caused her to turn on her team?

Another thing about "Candle" - all of his pseudonyms refer to a candles (candle, wax, wick) - which might tie him to the Flame Station. In fact, Locke discovers a Marvin video in the Flame Station that instructs Locke to try several communication options: the first two are "not operational" and the third question asks whether an "incursion by the Hostiles" has occurred and instructs (if so) to enter "7-7", which destroys the station.

The only wrench in my theory is that the Orientation films are dated around 1980 and Rousseau says she's been on the island 16 years (early to mid 1990s). Still, time is relative on Lost.

We've been kicking this around on another forum and I thought it was interesting. Danielle's "science team" could have been pulled together under false pretenses by Dharma or the Widmores to either bring science personnel to the island (like they bamboozled Juliet) or to find the island for Widmore.

Whaddaya think?

But I like it, and it could absolutely make sense.
