Subject: Dabble with me a while, I have a theory (and it's not a demon, it's radiation)

So. We know at least five of the Oceanic 6 (the jury's still out on Aaron) - Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sun.

We know that moving to and from the island can f**k your s**t up if you've been exposed to massive doses of radiation (a la Desmond and, we assume, Faraday).

We know that Desmond got a big ol' gulp of tasty free radicals when the hatch imploded.

Now take a look at the list of Sixers again. None of them were present when the hatch imploded - Jack, Kate and Hurley were being escorted lord-knows-where by The Others, while Sayid and Sun (and Jin!) were following them in a boat offshore.

Is there a chance that the reason only a select handful of our Lostaways leave the island is because the rest of them choose not to, fearing they'll wind up a crazy loon?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Claire, Locke, Bernard, and Rose were all either at the hatch, or on the beach, when the hatch imploded (and we know the Beachers saw the effects, so it stands to reason that the radiation could've affected them aswell). We don't know where Danielle was, but we know that the Sixers (along with Jin, Sawyer, Ben and The Others) were nowhere to be seen.

So, if you're of the camp who believes other people got off the island, I would not be surprised if that list of potentials is comprised simply of Juliet and Sawyer, seeing as by my calculations they're the only two people that might want to leave who physically could. The big question mark is Jin - we know he at least doesn't leave the island, if not die altogether, so why does he stay behind if the reason for the people left behind is the radiation?

Sorry if that rambled on :)

Remember Hurley's pal in the clinic who gave him the numbers? Maybe he's someone who got off the island and went crazy and that explains why he knows the numbers.

BUT that means Ben is special, since it now seems obvious he's been on and off the island- as well as some of the Others like the ones who recruited Juliette.

Interesting :)

Just that he hasn't been exposed to high doses of radiation. My one big thorn is Aaron, as he *was* at the beach when the hatch imploded - maybe something about being born on the island has given him some sort of immunity?
