Subject: Speculation: Ben said "I have a man on the boat"...

I suspect it might be Michael. Ben may have known enough that the boat was on its way (for him) and gave Michael the coordinates to be intercepted by it.

It would be a logical way to introduce Harold back into the storyline.

I hope it is Michael and not someone new... More often than not I end up disliking new characters, and it's not like the cast isn't big enough already!

More spec - is Kate pregnant or what? We know the island heals and apparently also makes one super fertile (see Jin) and we also know that there are women, plural, among the Lostaways who are pregnant, not only Sun. I can't believe the issue wasn't addressed when Juliet marked the tents in the S3 finale, if I'd had sex on the island I'd surely be interested in who the other women are.

And assuming Kate is pregnant, how far in the future were we when Jack then met up with Kate? She said "he" will be wondering where she is. Maybe she's got a little toddler at home? I don't get how Kate isn't still a fugitive in the future, though.

Although I'm leaning towards her not being pregnant because it seems like they're being very insistent that she is, and nothing is ever what it's first presented as on this show!

I need to know. Just imagine the drama! ;-)

They've been playing it up for a while now, I'd assume it'll be the focus of a flashback/forward :)

If she' pregnant, then maybe the guy Jack mentioned at home waiting for Kate in that flash-forward was her son instead of some loser guy. I like the idea of her eventually ending up an empowered single mom instead of desperately needing a man in her life. Because honestly, Jack and Sawyer are both pretty and all, but Kate seems a lot more well-balanced than either of them and she's got a freakin' bounty on her head.

And if they stick her with some other guy she met after she got off the island, you know he'd just be some cardboard cutout of a guy, either another loser to show that she still falls into the same habits of finding the boys with deep-seated issues, or a "perfect man" to illustrate that now she's found the perfect American dream or some bullshizz like that.

The perfect end to Kate's character arc would be her defining herself without a guy in her life. Driving a sports car she bought herself, successfully raising a son whom she'll teach not to be a douchebag, and generally not needing the approval of some dude to be happy: that's the strong heroine I want to see when this whole crazy story is over.

I'm pretty sure that Kate has mentioned the possibility to Sawyer.

It mostly makes sense, but didn't Ben lose contact with the outside world the same day he sent Michael off on that boat, when Desmond turned the failsafe key?

I like the way they tied in The Christiane freighter from "Find 815" into the show. I wonder if Sam will have a part to play?

The more I think about it, the more I believe Michael is Ben's man on the boat. My issue with it was that he must have had the info about Naomi's team before Desmond triggered the failsafe and knocked out the island's communication. But really, it's entirely likely that Ben left a more low-tech line of communication on the small boat for Michael to use to remain in contact, like a simple walkie.

This would then explain why Naomi's team is suddenly able to find the island; Ben directed Michael to her freighter to scout out what's going on onboard it, and Michael led them to the island.

The thing I'm sort of fuzzy on right now is how Dharma knows Desmond is on the island (as evidenced by Naomi's copy of Desmond and Penny's picture, and her orders to say that Penny sent her). Has that been explained already? I don't exactly remember all the details about when Desmond first arrived on the island, and what sort of contact he had with Dharma people. It's been awhile since that stuff aired, and my interest in the show hadn't quite developed into the full-on obsession it is now, haha.
