Ausiello has posted that KB turned down the role probably because she does not want to relocate to Hawaii.
Arg. I was really looking forward to her joining the cast. She's fantastic.

There were rumors floating around a while ago that she was up for the lead in Xanadu on Broadway. The role went to someone else, and if there's any other rumors of her doing Broadway it's news to me.
At the moment, she's either in the process of, or just finished with, filming the new Judd Apatow/Shauna Robertson movie, "Forgetting Sarah Marshal," in which she has the title role. (Apatow and Robertson are the people responsible for "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up.") The movie is/was shooting in Hawaii, which makes the whole refusal to move to Hawaii for Lost seem even more nuts (to me, at least).
