The Taganak Island was given to Sultan Esmail Kiram I (1947-1973) in 1948 by the British before the creation of Malaysian federation. The Brothers Sultan Esmail I and Datu Punjungan was brought by the Philippine navy ship to Jesselton (Kota Kinabalu) to press it's Sabah claim.

I can't really understand why you think you can get Sabah after calling yourselves "Sultan of Sulu"

The propreity of the Sabah issue has long been settled since 1939 by the Session Court of North Borneo in Sandakan.
