The hand curled about the supple leather of his stallion's thick braided reins is gloved, yet even shielded his entire being speaks of raw physical power. His chin is square and strong, his face rakishly tanned by long exposure to many an element. A mop of thick black waves tumble to the collar of his white shirt which is left unbuttoned to the middle of his broad chest. Over his shoulders is a cape which trails across his mount's hindquarters, and the nervous animal dances beneath him*

*coming upon this settlement of people he dismounts, ignoring any one else about, revealing a towering height even on foot. He pulls a canteen from his saddlebag, absently smooths his horse's forelock*
