Subject: The Beaver Journal; Tea Party numbers not impressive.

An Article from the Beaver Journal;

http://www.beaverjournal.com/2011/04/16/tea-party-rally-in-portland-not-very-impressive/

Yesterday the Oregon Tea Party held a tax day rally as did other Tea Party members in cities throughout the U.S. and the content of the speeches by Tea Party members and the signs they carried lacked any impressive new message. Tea Party members carried signs emblazoned with slogans that stated the “U.S. Government is swollen with Tyranny” and that “Taxation is a crime”.

Approximately 15 Counter-Protesters mostly identifying themselves as Democrats and Green Party members were out in force with their own signs and messages. Portland Police had a visible presence of 9 officers on bikes and a dozen patrol cars distributed on all the cross streets and a mobile command center just blocks away.
Meanwhile Portland Police closed of a large perimeter around Portland State University and some students boarding a Trimet bus told other riders that they suspected a hostage situation may have occurred at a local bank although Portland Police has yet to release any details on that incident.
