You know Glen, we just got in from celebrating at victory in the playoffs. We were not expecting this one. I never expect to drink but I did.
My son had a great game offensively and defensively. Most of all, Marvin, Amber's big brother had a great pitching performance. We were leading 8-0 when he hit a grand slam in the top of the 7th. My son was one base. So, the score goes down as 12-0.
The list of people at the game read like a social register. The game played earlier at the field went into extra innings so there was some extra smoking in advance. It's hard to there were any surprise smokers because the excitement of the football season has almost been matched by the baseball season.
Speaking of excitement, there are sure some Happy Pants. Linda, the mother of Amber who my son goes with, and also Marvin's mother, developed a case of nerves and was into chain bumming even before the game started.
I suspected Amber was smoking again during the day. Linda confirmed it, saying my son requested it for "luck." I hate to say the word that came to mind. He was obviously able to concentrate on the game.
The game was good but when we got back, the fun really started. Mrs. L, my retired boss, was at the game and threw an impromptu party for parents and fans. Everyone knows to go to a party they put on.
Seeing we were winning, she called the usual caterer to throw a party together. He rounded up a keg, bought some prepared food at the store and put out a great spread. Their liquor cabinet is always prepared.
Older kids cruised. Many of the younger stayed at Lacy's until their parents had enough partying. We took Lacy and Ashley to the game. Both were good at the game although Lacy made it back home to join the smokers her brother was entertaining out back. It was the usual suspects and way too much smoking for kids that age.
My middle son went to Ashley's. We kept her last night and Amy kept our son a couple of hours tonight. I heard no reports of Amy smoking.
Amy's work friend Shannon has become a fan of the teams. She sat with an uncle of the team. They reluctantly came to Mrs. L's party.
As the liquor flowed, Shannon came to me in need of a cigarette. She lit up and her date said he was not believing that. She smiled and said "you like." I guess he did. She bummed another. Then they disappeared. They came back and she had cigarette, the same Capri 120s she bummed. She was dangling and offered to pay me back. I grabbed it before my husband did.
She a tantalizer. They left a little before the party broke up. I'm sure it was Shannon's pleasure to make his pants happy. The girl needs a night like that.
My husband had a little too much to drink so he cannot really show how happy his pants are. If it goes at usual, he will wake up at attention just as the boys start stirring. They may all sleep late in the morning.
Somebody else can have our place in church. Glen, hope you enjoyed being dangled and watching the dangling.
Cathy, I know you will make something real juicy about this. Mindy, you usually come on weekends. Hope all is well.
