I think I see history repeating itself. My son is headed for his junior year in high as a highly sought football prospect for colleges.
My future husband and I were just becoming a solid couple. I'd like to think we were the outstanding couple in school that year.
Martha, my son's gf, is a beauty, and he follows his dad's trend to be nice looking. You have to remember this is a small school but I was a hot fish in a small pond.
I was not a smoker at all until near the end of my senior year. We knew Martha's parents since high school. Her mother moved here at the start of our senior year. She put a fear in all us local girls. I kept my guy but she did overtake one girl's efforts to keep her man.
Marsha had a baby shortly after we got out of high school. Martha is their second. Martha is tall and athletic but smokes. My Lisa Sharon could never get Martha to stay off cigarettes very long. Lisa Sharon was pretty good about not smoking during sports but she has graduated from high school, working this summer and getting ready to go to college.
She no longer makes any effort to limit her smoking. Neither do I. Neither does Martha or Marsha.
