Cathy confirmed Catholics smoke more. Especially in the old days, the auditorium was a place where daily and party smokers all gathered and smoked.

I liked what Megan, actually her daughter, said about grounding an 18-year-old girl for smoking. I don't mind my daughter smoking as much as I am concerned about the idea of her going to the college a day before graduation.
She goes there Friday night and we get there Saturday. Her accomodations are separate from ours Saturday night.

You have to hope you taught the kid right and hope she has a little luck. Getting too drunk to perform is not a viable option but I'm sure it has worked at times. We will let her live a little. Smoking is not bad in itself but it is more like a bad sign these days.

Kendra does not plan to get addicted to cigarettes. Probably none of us did. Sylvia, the mother of the boy she is going with got hooked from party smoking. I think my sister never stopped, except for her many pregnancies, after smoking at a New Year's Eve event at the church auditorium.

I think if Kendra keeps up her smoking at any high level, we may have to take our smoking outside since her younger sister and I both smoke. Thanks for all the comments. On a scale of 1 to 10, deciding if it okay for an 18-year-old within a month of graduation from high school can smoke, the question does not even make a 1.

Mindy, I hope you and the family enjoy the event. Cathy, keep on having fun and lead us through this crazy world.
