Slam, bang, thank you mam. That was the theme at the girls game last night. The main problem is that they could have run out of softballs.
How did those girls on the other team ever get in the playoffs and win a game?
Laurel led off with a home run and was greeted warmly at the plate by Alyson. Alyson hit a home run and was greeted warmly at the place by Darla. They got Darla, Neely and June out and only trailed 2-0.
It stayed that way until we got to the top of the order when the first 5 got on. Darla homered Laurel and Alyson home and Neely followed with a home run. One the way home, Jessica called Neely's one-hit 9 strike out pitching performance and 2 home runs a cigar night for Neely. I said I hope not.
Jessica said maybe when she turns 15, we can go to a cigar bar together. I said maybe when you are 18. She said by the time she is 18 my lungs will be turning pink again. I asked how her lungs will be. She said pinker than Lisa's.
She said she smokes to look grown up. Lisa needs those cigarettes. I said I hope not but told her to take care of Jessica and Lisa can take responsibility for her mistakes.
She agreed but said she thought she should tell me. I said I fear that is true.
Lisa rode back with her friend Laura. Jess said Laura's mother will not let the girls smoke in the car but does not worry about them smoking otherwise.
I told Jess I feared Lisa's group is smoking more than her group. She said don't bet on it. Jessica knows.
