Ted, I'm no model grandmother. I haven't smoked this summer. You're a kid. You have a world of opportunity. You don't know what a feeling it was to come back to this college. I know my doctorate is too late. I'll probably retire before I can use it.
So you have a smoking woman for yourself but want to decide who else can smoke. My opinion for the grandkids is don't smoke until you are out of high school. Then, let me join you. Having said that, a whole lot of modern children have taken up smoking before they even reach their teens. I expect those 20-year-old granddaughters coming to my apartment have already made that decision. I expect that most of my kids and grandkids tried cigarettes but did not star smoking.
I haven't joined in smoking this summer but I'm going to the loudest club on the college strip. It's so dingy, someone may mistake me for 40. I don't mind my smoking if I so desire. So, Ted get off my case unless you have a cigarette.
As you might someday tell a growing child, Quincy's mother is old enough to make her own choices.
