Subject: First Hoops Transfer - Marcus Johnson - UConn (Charlie Gregg)

Junior forward Marcus Johnson, a one time Top 50 recruit from Los Angeles, has left UConn. He plans to complete the semester, then transfer to a school closer to the West Coast. Johnson, who averaged 5.5 points as a part time starter last year, opened the season as a backup to Stanley Robinson. He exhausted his junior eligibility by playing six minutes in an exhibition game against Asumption Monday. He will not be eligible to play again until second semester 2009 if he transfers to a Division I school.
