Subject: The REBIRTH

Just got home from my vacation in Las Vegas, but before I left last week my friend gave me something to look forward to when he told me that 101.1 FM would be restored to the "persona" we all knew and loved. When K-Rock came back, that gave me a little bit of hope. And now, finally, justice has been served! Yes it's not TOTALLY the "classic" era WCBS, and it's been tweaked a bit to be more "modern," but the basic spirit is back and for that I'm grateful. At least we don't have to put up with the soulless drek we've faced the last 2 years. '80s songs I don't mind, that is my era after all. The '60s I love of course (Britpop RULES!) too. And if we ask, they might be open to change and we may see more of the '50s again. I propose we write to them and first THANK them for restoring the channel's "true" format. Then as a sidenote, suggest the classic elements we liked before. Don't be too pushy, or we might seem ungrateful. And I for one really am.

Now when I hear a Dusty Springfield song for the first time on WCBS in 2 years, I might openly weep (no kidding, BTW) :-)
