I'm not that familiar with David Hinckley but his article and the link to the 50's lost article on his personal perspective were very insightful to me. I learned a lot from reading how radio stations strategize to attract and maintain listeners and how assumptions are made. What he said in his articles are the way I'm seeing WCBS-FM maintain their playlist now. Where I see the conflict is the large number of baby boomers out there that still have lots of listening power and have disposable spend money.
