Subject: 80s music, not a new thing?

Please tell me if I am imagining things, but I remember '80s music being used some years before the flip, even before the cutback (when WCBS promoted itself as the greatest of the 60s and 70s). Maybe I'm thinking of the WCBS version of We Built This City, and/or some of the Christmas songs? But I think there were others.
