In reply to: ROB J 's message, "Re: Why doesn't one of the NY newspapers put out a poll" on Saturday, May 12, 03:37:57pm

I refuse to subscribe to satellite radio.

It's not because I am cheap, which I am not; it's because that is exactly what these executives want us to do.

I have enough WCBS-FM airchecks to keep me satisfied.

It's everyone else that is missing out that concerns me, since the oldies format was taken away for greedy purposes.

I wrote to the president of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Terry Stewart, asking if he and Norman N.Nite could do something about it, because without oldies, sooner or later, people are going to forget what rock & roll is /was, and then nobody will visit the museum.

Terry replied and told me he can not change a radio station's format.

So on Friday, I wrote to Daily News radio columnist, David Hinckley to see if the News could run a poll asking New Yorkers if Oldies 101.1 should return to the FM dial.

He has not responded back to me yet.

I feel two years is enough time for Jack-FM to grow and it hasn't.

That is why I feel right now is the perfect time for a new poll.

They can always put Jack-FM on another station!

BRING BACK THE STATION YOU CAN ALWAYS SING ALONG WITH!!!
