The oldies era has been defined as going from the mid 50's to the early 70's. I doubt you will hear much of this on the reincarnation of the golden 101. If you are into 70's - 80's music, you will be delighted. But if you love the music of CBS FM in it's heyday, I think you are going to be bitterly disappointed. One of the main reasons CBS FM became so popular was that the music of the 70's was so terrible that people preferred listening to oldies. However, 70's - 80's music will be the centerpiece of this new station! If you thought 101 was horrible in it's
dying days two years ago before they pulled the plug, wait 'til you hear this!! I really hope that I am wrong, but I have this bad gut feeling that the CBS suits are stringing us along, only to break our hearts again. It will be great to hear the jocks back in the major leagues again, but I doubt that they will be allowed to play much of the music we want. I wouldn't be too quick to cancel my Sirius or XM subscription yet!
