Subject: A Thought about the Importance of Personalities on the Radio

As I type this, I am listening to Dan Taylor. He is telling people how to deal with yesterday's steam pipe explosion as far as getting around it is concerned.

This made me realize a couple of things. First, for two years anyone that listened to Jack-FM did not have access to important information. This is because the so called experts at CBS Radio believed that the listeners were not interested in hearing information about survival after an event such as what took place yesterday. This was also done to save money which in the end didn't work. Ultimately they lost because as we know, $16 million is less than $30 million.

Many radio stations today will ignore or not talk about what happened yesterday because they feel it will take away from the morning show. CBS-FM always talked to the people of New York. They provided information about everything from the music and artists they were playing to the weather and traffic conditions in the Tri State Area. This is one of the factors that made the station such a part of the culture and life style of New York.

Congratulations to CBS-FM for still knowing how to talk to the people and get it done.
