CBS-FM got in trouble because they tried to adapt the oldies format to a market that didn't want them in the first place. The most loyal audience in the history of New York radio is continuing to find the alternatives. The great personalities that made it all happen have scattered as well. CBS/Infinity gradually dismantled this great radio station from January 2001 until Black Friday, June 3, 2005. By it's last year on the air, it barely resembled its former self.

Even the intended market for JACK-FM doesn't want that sorry format!
