I left CBS-FM for Sirius two years before Black Friday. Sometimes, I'm astonished at my own foresight regarding this. When it all went down on June 3, 2005 I had no idea what was happening since I had long since moved on from CBS-FM. I found out when a small headline in the Star-Ledger that Saturday morning said it all, "Golden Oldies are history at CBS-FM". Then I turned on Channel 4 and there was Cousin Brucie talking about it.

Sirius is now my primary music source, but now that I finally have DSL, I'll give a listen to the various internet sites. I do listen to many more channels on Sirius other than Gold and 60s Vibrations. I can listen to whatever strikes my fancy. When my older relatives are in my car, I give them Standard Time (pop standards and big band) and they just love it. No wonder I'm the one who gets to drive to Atlantic City!

There is something terribly wrong when the greatest city in the world does not have an oldies station and has no hope of getting one. However, this is how business is done in 2006. I've chosen to adapt and move on. Sometimes, what we move on to is better than what we leave behind.
