Alan and Charlie, my sentiments exactly! For those unwilling or unable to subscribe to XM or Sirius, I'm glad they will have a place to go once again.

I listened to Mark Simone's comments on the impending switch on SNO this week, and he said whether it's CBS-FM or another station, all you're going to get is a limited playlist of maybe 200 songs. If the new CBS-FM is anything like the unlistenable station of 2001-05, it won't last long.

Given that this has made national news, I'm sure PD's in other markets that lost their oldies station will give the format a second look. If the mother of all oldies stations is coming back, that's quite possible. It will be interesting to see what transpires.

I wish the new CBS-FM good luck, but I'm not giving up my Sirius subscription. At any rate, in my part of Central Jersey, just south of New Brunswick, 101.1 New York clips against 101.1 Philadelphia. XM and Sirius don't clip against anybody!
