Hear is some information about what happened the other night on the former KOOL 96.7.

All the jocks were let go except the program director who had been doing afternoons on the air during the oldies format. It is believed that jocks will be hired in the next 30 days.

The former on air employees were not told until Wednesday night just before the change to the Coast.

The last song was the Letter by the Boxtops and the first song was Big Shot at 10 PM.

The music reminds me of WLTW. It's interesting considering that two FMs exist in Bridgeport which is part of the market the Coast serves and one of them is owned by Cox the same company that owns WCZT. That is WEZN Star 99.9.

The other station is WEBE WEBE 108 which Cumulus owns. Both stations have better signals because of their transmittter and antenna locations than the former KOOL does.

Now in Southwestern Connecticut, three stations exist that are doing pretty much the same thing within a 25 mile radius.
