Gentlemen, I have addressed this issue several times before, but let me try it "one more once." Speaking in my former official capacity as the Shop Steward of WCBS-FM, Oldies 101.1, WJMK-FM Chicago and WCBS-FM, New York, belong to the same Union, AFTRA, we just belong to different locals. (Or Maybe Not. At this point, I really don't know) Infinity (now CBS Radio, Inc.) refused to give the New York Local of AFTRA, juristiction over HD-2. That means, no union wages, health and retirement contributions, dismissal protection, etc. Basic working "Terms and Conditions." Without those key elements, no union member can or will be able to work there. The company refused to continue talks concerning those issues not long after the flip to "Jack" and our termination. That is the whole story. There are other factors involved, that I cannot and will not comment on. Obviously, in Chicago they were more cordual and receptive to working something out with respect to the plight of the staff and the Chicago audience, as was not the case here in New York.
