You are right, listening to oldies stations on the internet is not the same as listening to music on the radio but at this point you have no choice so you have to do the next best thing.As far as Jack is concerned they are the least listened to station in NY not only because of what you mentioned but because the music is bad and it replaced a very popular format that had a lot of listeners.
