I agree with you Paul! The closing comment in my previous post said basically what you just did.

I dislike automated stations and I have since I heard one for the first time in 1971. I was on vacation near St. Albans Vermont. I actually got a tour of the station after I found out that they were a "robot". Lots of "cart" machines playing music. A human still had to be there to load the tapes. I understand that nowadays, the entire playlist at a robot station can be on a hard drive.

DJ's make the station and give it personality, unlike the over-used sound clips (on JACK) featuring Al Franken's voice.
