Point taken.

The thinking here is that they could've gotten considerably more shelf life out of a 3.5 (an upward trend) and expanded the Oldies notion, instead of genuflecting before the more immediate philosophy of the buyers and caving in with a clearance sale. Woof. That diplomacy bargaining must've a real clash between long-term plans and immediate plans. As a result of these skirmishes, music radio has suffered.

Interesting discussion. There might be expiration dates on Classic Rock and Free-FM which occur a lot sooner than the one on Oldies was declared, but that's another topic. Heck -- that's another message board.
Primarily, I just don't like the minimization of music and its importance, Gil. But your intelligent comments and observations are notable.
