Alan and Larry, I think we're in general agreement about what happened on June 3 and why. As for a new oldies station in New York, I just don't see it. Madison Ave wouldn't buy it even if it could guarantee a 10 rating. Advertisers simply don't want listeners over age 40, regardless of how affluent they are. They made their point with me, and that's why I'm with Sirius.

Even though I'm quite pleased with Sirius, I still felt terribly when I found out CBS-FM was gone. I was a loyal listener for more than 20 years. It's like your family of origin is dead and the neighborhood you grew up in is gone. You move on to other things but it still hurts to lose the place you came from.
