Actually the first AM station I heard on the radio was
WNEW-AM..when my family and I went to the dentist in NYC William B. Williams was always on the air...
I also heard this station a lot in my house growing up as
my Mom listened to it most of the time.

One of my first AM stations I listened to was WMCA I belive with Jack Spector doing his sports talk show. I also listened to WJRZ 970 AM.

Its wasn't until 1973 when I began listening to a all new station on 1050 with their brand new Country format. This was a fun station back then.

Going though junior high & high school I listened to WABC and WNBC..for some reason maybe reception problems I never listened to WWDJ.

Some of the other stations I listened to in the 1970s included Long Island radio at Long Beach and other AM including WWRL because they were a Queens station had some neat 1600 WWRL jingles in the mid 1970s.
