She whistles for Silver, who comes trotting up happily to the fence. Fox strokes his nose and talks to him as if he were just one of her friends. "Hey baby, what's up?" She gives him a piece of carrot, then puts a flake of hay in his paddock, as well Prance, Shadow, and Sky. She gets her brushes and hopes over the fence, pulling a hoofpick out of her back pocket. She cleans out his hooves, promising to give him a good grooming and a workout later, then does the same with her other horses. when she's done, she leans on the fence to Silver paddock just talking to him, as if catching up with an old friend
