Hope this is the correct place to post this.

Over the years, I've read and heard so much about Dan that I don't try to remember where it all came from or from whence it emanated; however, I specifically recall that Dan had three cats, and I think all three were Maine Coons. One of the cats, Remington Buckaroo, looked exactly like my Maine Coon. I'm guessing that Remington Buckaroo outlived the other two cats, because I never heard of them again. I did hear about Remington Buckaroo at least three other times.

Dan performed a song at Vevay in 2001 called "Buckaroo's Midnight Ramble," and it was an instrumental reminiscent of Chet Atkins' style of pickin'. Dan dedicated the song to the memory of Chet, who had just cast off this mortal coil not long before that performance. It was a curious thing to think about the midnight ramble, because my Maine Coon always insisted on going out for a while at midnight. For a ramble, no doubt.

On one of his projects, Dan listed Remington Buckaroo as "Executive Producer." I suppose Remington had his own little Maine Coon account with which to fund the project.

Finally, "Full Circle" liner notes read: "In memory of Remington Buckaroo."

My Maine Coon is still alive, having turned 15 years old on June 15, 2005. He's old and decrepit, but he still behaves like a kitten on occasion. This morning, my Maine Coon barfed on my bed covers at 4:02 a.m. The mattress on which I was sleeping had a mattress cover, a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and a warm/cool thermal blanket. The hair ball stopped on top of the thermal blanket, but the liquid and most of the semi-liquid went right through those gaps in the thermal blanket and soaked the whole shebang. The feline vomitus did not, however, make it to the mattress itself.

Yesterday morning, my Maine Coon barfed on the carpet at 5:50 a.m., just a small amount, then I vaulted out of bed and hustled him over some newspaper to minimize the damage.

Not this morning. This morning, he got me good!
