As followers of Christ we are to become conformed into His image, becoming like-minded with Him.

In Luke 9:23 we read Jesus own words bearing the cross:

"Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me."
