Hi Kenneth,

My response to your post on Moses was to simply show that we often taken the Bible through someone else's understanding of it rather than having formed a relationship with the Lord and asking the Holy Spirit to bring further understanding to what they are reading. The Holy Spirit can also shed light and understanding to many things in our daily walk. And things do are always as they appear to be in God's spectrum of knowing.

Whether God takes away man's free will or because of man's free will to do as they please, we see man has turned away from their Creator in so many, many ways. As a loving Father, God brings correction, not to punish the child out of a mean heart but because His desire is to restore man back to him, to gain his attention and hope that he will sin no more. I pretty much agree with almost everything you have said in this post. It is God's desire to restore man to Himself, not to destroy mankind. And He will do whatever it takes to do that, even if it means allow man to suffer the consequences of his actions.

And, yes, God does speak to mankind, no matter what their religion is, even if they are serving false gods. That is because God loves them and wants them to know Him and turn to Him. Throughout the Old and New Testament you see God's abundant love for mankind. You also see man's selfish ways and misguided antics that brings great hardship, to them and to their heavenly Father who loves them. And there are many who call themselves Christians who will find that they might have done all the right things they were supposed to do but that they heart was far from God. Do I think Christians rank above people of any other religion. No, being a Christian is not about a person's worth or value. Rather it is a humbling knowledge to know what Christ Jesus suffered on our behalf. A Christian should be more humble, kind and loving to EVERY person for that is what we are called to be.

Resting in His finished work,
Joan
