Hi Surfer,

Checked this site out a few days ago and found it very interesting. I so agree with you that we need to not be ashamed of who we are as Christians, being mindful of the few who would like to make everything "politically correct", thus removing the very foundation upon this great country was founded. Christmas is the celebration of birth of the Christ child. the word defines itself, "Christ-mas"
Every Christmas my husband sets out a large, lighted wreath that encircles a sign that reads "Happy Birthday, Jesus". We didn't put it there so much as a statement to remind people what the season is for, but more because we just wanted to honor the Lord and wish Him birthday wishes because we love Him. We would love others to join in and celebrate His glorious birth with us. Surfer, I believe we do have to stand for our Christian rights but even more I believe we have to fight for our Christian character and that can only be done one on one. Perhaps if we lived our lives in unity with His spirit the enemy would not have so a stronghold on America. Perhaps if we believed all things are possible with God we would not be so panicked by the circumstances around us. Perhaps if we extended the love of Christ with our neighbors, the poor, the widowed and the orphaned things would be changed here. But it all begins with Jesus. He has to be our focus, our hearts desire to know Him more. As we come to know Him more we will want to vote for godly government. Celebrating Christmas and keeping Jesus as the reason for the season will become thing we will want to do becasue we love Him. You see, I believe we can do all the exterior things, put up signs, fight evil, etc., etc., but if the love of Christ does not dwell in our hearts, it will all be for naught. It will be like the Christian Crusades of old, fighting for their Lord for losing sight for the very reason He came, to save the world, not judge it.

Any way, a few of my thoughts. There are lots of them floating around in my head. I know the Holy Spirit is trying to rearrange my thinking. I pray I be obedient to Him and allow all my garbage thinking to go and let His thoughts become my thoughts. Oh, Lord, let it be, in Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Praising Him Who is the reason for this season,
Joan
