Subject: God Is The Giver

God Is The Giver

"My purpose is to give life in all its fullness." John 10:10

The familiar words of John 10:10 should serve as a daily reminder: Christ came to this earth so that we might experience His abundance, His love, and His gift of eternal life. But Christ does not force Himself upon us; we must claim His gifts for ourselves.

Every person knows that some days are so busy and so hurried that abundance seems like a distant promise. It is not. Every day, we can claim the spiritual abundance that God promises for our lives...and we should.

Hannah Whitall Smith spoke for believers of every generation when she observed, "God is the giver, and we are the receivers. And His richest gifts are bestowed not upon those who do the greatest things, but upon those who accept His abundance and His grace."

Christ is, indeed, the Giver. Will you accept His gifts today?

Dear Lord, as I take the next steps on my life's journey, let me take them with You. Whatever this day may bring, I thank You for the opportunity to live abundantly. Let me use the tools and talents You have given me, Father, and let me lean upon You, today and forever. Amen.

[from Joshobel:] This part really spoke to me:
Every person knows that some days are so busy and so hurried that abundance seems like a distant promise. It is not. Every day, we can claim the spiritual abundance that God promises for our lives...and we should.

Abundance does seem like a distant promise, but, it isn't as is said here. We are to bring heaven [God's will] here on earth [which seems distant from God because it is 'of the world' instead of 'of God'].
We have to continue with believing God's Word and speaking it forth here into this earth so that His will is done and He brings it to pass. All we have to do is to continue to believe for it is the good fight of faith which the devil is after to destroy our faith in God. We must continue.
Just as David's house was established through God and His Word [promises], we are to be established and it takes a good war/battle to do so. David was warrior, and we must remember that there is a battle/war raging. There are times of peace and times of war. Only perfect peace shall be within us who believe on the One who saves.
Every day we claim [speak forth] the promises of God in faith so that we do have His abundance of Life.
Some of us have more of a battle than others, but nonetheless, it is a battle.
We are to link up together as the Body of Christ, because that is what we are, we belong unto Him who is the Author and Finisher of our faith, without Him we are nothing. A denominational name will not save us; a man cannot save us; ONLY Christ Jesus can save.
Christ is the Anointed One.
David was anointed to be king by God. David was to rule and to reign here on earth by God's power/authority. But we miss it when we do not press on to the mark - to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus - when we do not believe and when we do not fight that good fight of faith. Yes, we do fail, but God with us can make it all possible. Jesus is our strength in these times, so we must hold on to Him. He is our stronghold - our strong tower. We must hold fast to that which we profess.....His Word; not to false confessions of lies - we must no longer believe the devil and his lies as he impresses upon us into our feelings that we are nothing and can get nothing. God's Word is mightier than the lies for it is a two-edged sword cutting asunder the lies so that we live!
There is a spiritual abundance, and I claim it today for my spirit is stirred with this message [that you sent and that the Lord is giving me now]. :)
We the church works together in Christ and not in any other name. We come together to encourage and strengthen with His Word for HE is alive within us! Let's not be dead but made alive in Christ! Jesus conquered death on the cross and with His resurrection! Hallelujah! We must continue to believe on Him for He saves. Blessed be the Name of the Lord Most High who is our God! Jesus Christ saves! Our only hope is in Him.

So, what speaks to you from this devotional?
Be encouraged and listen to what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to you and be blessed for Life comes.
Joshobel
