The Fourth Annual Miss Bikini-USA International Competition was held in beautiful Ft. Lauderdale, Florida September 21st through the 24th 2005. Bikini-USA.com holds a Photographer/Modeling competition each year to bring out the best models and photographers and match them against each other in a fun but competitive environment. Models are competing for the top honors of becoming Miss Bikini USA International while the photographers are pitted against each other in a test of their photography and directing abilities.

This years competition was held at the beautiful Sheraton Yankee Clipper Beach Resort, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, known as the Venice of America for its beautiful inland waterways.

Some models and photographers checked in early to scope out the hotels beautiful scenery, which included beautifully decorated landscapes surrounded by the tropical blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The resort has two unique pools. The main pool, located in the center of the complex, has one glass side that looks into the Wreck Bar. This bar was use in a scene with Robert De Nino and Billy Crystal in the move Analyze This. The beachside pool has a breath taking ocean view. Its surrounded by two bars, the beachside bar located right on the beach, and the deck bar a favorite hangout at night for the models and photographers.

On Thursday morning the remaining Photographers and Models were creating lines as they checked into the host hotel. The Sheraton Yankee Clipper Beach Resort made all the contestants feel very welcome.

On Thursday afternoon, all models and photographers gathered at the main pool where they met with the staff, sponsors, TV crews and the two hosts for the events Miss Bikini USA International 2001, Model and Actress Miss Kimberly Ensey and Model and Actress Cynthia Pacheco from California. During this time all photographers and models were briefed about the events for the weekend, the categories they were competing for, as well as, how many lucky winners will be chosen from the competition. Next, this years sponsors presented gifts to the models and photographers. Rock Star presented everyone one with caps, T-shirts, and energy drinks for the entire competition, CMG Management gave all models portfolio bags, UROK supplied our hosts and staff photographers with caps and clothing. Lisa Cappuccino, owner of Cappuccino Make up, was contracted by Bikini-USA to do the make up for all the shoots.

Several models and photographers already Scheduled photo shoots via email, but didnt have this option. Everyone grabbed their calendars, day timers, or anything they could write on to schedule their photo sessions before the photographers were out of available time slots. The shooting times for the 3 day competition were pretty well cast in stone, or at least on the back of somebodys hand, or in their overflowing memory banks. After the meeting the competition began and the photo secessions started in hopes of capturing the grand prize of $1000 cash.

Photographers were allowed to shoot anywhere as long as permission was granted. The beach, hotel inside, outside, poolside, and marina were just a few of the options. The beach, garden and marina areas were the first choice of everyone. When the sun peeked through the clouds, the pool area was overrun with bikini clad models and anxious photographers. While others chose to make a run for the beautiful beach areas, while some even went to parks and private airports.

Friday the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The second day of competition began with the personnel interviews. Models were interviewed by the Interview Judge Robin Faber of CMG Management. Robin and her staff, scored each model on her personality, and ability to communicate with people, this was 10% of the models over all score. CMG Management also sponsored modeling contracts worth over $10, 000 to the top 5 finalist at this years competition. While the models were in interviews, our two host Kimberly Ensey and Cynthia Pacheco, were invited to come join Mark Barsowski, at ESPN Sport Radio in Ft. Lauderdale for a live radio interview, about the competition. Late in the afternoon, the film crew ran across several models that decided to play a game of beach volleyball. The game was fun to watch as a couple of the international models had never played volleyball before, and the other models were trying to teach them how to play. That evening the models, photographers and staff had a Party at the Beachside Bar and pool deck. Food and drinks were provided, and the atmosphere was great for everyone to relax after a long day of shooting. After the poolside party, models and photographers enjoyed the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami activities, with each other or with their family and friends. This included lots of clubs and bars, which were abundant this time of year. Some chose to sit around the pool and talk about how they got started in their careers of modeling or photography. After a long day of shooting and modeling most models and photographers were in bed early due to an early call time. The majority of the photographers and models were shooting at sunrise, 6:00 a.m.

Saturday, everyone was shooting from sunrise to sunset. Photographers and models shot all over the hotel, the pool, the beach and Ft. Lauderdale. The beaches were not crowded and the sun played games with the clouds peering through the clouds on an irregular basis creating a challenging environment for the photographers. The deadline was fast approaching for photographers to start turning in their photos to the judges. All the photos had to be turned in to the judges before 3:00 p.m. on Saturday for the final review. For those that were shooting with digital cameras they were glad they did, as they could turn their images in on a CD. For those photographers that were shooting with film based cameras, they were scurrying around Ft. Lauderdale in hopes of getting 1-hour service to meet the deadline.

The photographers were judged on photography only. Photographers were allowed to shoot in the following categories: swimwear, fashion, and artistic other (this category includes modeling on motorcycles, in groups, surfboards, and even planes.) Photographers could shoot as many different categories as they wanted, but all were required to submit at least 50% swimwear.

Models were judged accordingly in the following areas: Swimwear on stage 15%, Fashion on stage 15%, photography 50%, working with photographer 10%, and 10% for the interview phase.

Each Model was required to shoot with the photographer judge Matt Robinson from Fort Myers, Florida. Matt has shot for many magazines and catalogs; most recently for Playboy magazine. Matt scored each model on her ability to work with the photographer, how well she takes directions, how easy she is to work with and this score was 10% of her score. The other two judges that scored the models and photographers in the photo portion only was judge #2 Kimberly Ensey from Houston Texas. She is a former titleholder and has 8 years experience in print modeling, editorial, film and commercial work. She has been featured in several magazine, newspapers, catalogs, calendars and posters. Judge #3 was Jose Miranda, 2004 Photographer of the Year. Jose also has several year experience in the industry from Editorial, Catalog, and Magazine shoots. These three judges scores accounted for 50 % of models score and 100% of the photographers score. This years Bikini USA staff photographers included Brent Allen from Seivelle, Tennesse, who shot each model for the Bikini-USA.com and is a Photographer for Several Magazines. Brents photos taken during the competition will be submitted to the magazines, and one or more models could be in their next addition. Our next staff Photographer was Steve Mick from Nashville, Tennessee; Steve was the Miss Bikini USA International Photographer of the Year 2002. .

Saturday evening, the models competed in the On Stage portion of the competition. Sponsor Marlon Moore of Mantra Sounds in Miami, helped secure the event for the competition. This part of the competition was held in the Safari Club in side the Chesterfield Hotel, one the hottest spots in South Beach, Florida. Each model was presented in one Bikini and one fashion outfit of their choice, making it difficult for the judges. The emcees for Saturday Evening were Kimberly Ensey, and Cynthia Pacheco. Cynthia and the film crew of Johnthan Gwyn Productions were down in the streets of South Beach hours before the competition interviewing models, photographers, and partygoers about the event. The judges for the on stage competition were Matt Robinson, head judge, Robin Faber, owner of CMG Management, Jose Miranda, Photographer of the Year 2004, and our 4th judge was Mark Barnawski from ESPN Sports. The tensions started to build again in anticipation of who would win this multi-faceted event. Kimberly Ensey and Cynthia Pacheco gave the presentation, and announced the winners.
