Subject: The place to vote was right next to where you click on to see the two endings.

I voted for the original ending, because a Meg pregnancy plot is very interesting to me, but a Veronica-being-blamed-for-murder plot is not interesting to me. Also, if Meg had actually flatlined after her mother smothered her, that would mean no more Meg, and I want Meg back (alive and conscious). I think Meg opened her eyes at the very end of the original ending, and I want Meg conscious again. Comatose women having babies is just icky. There's also more dramatic potential in Meg being conscious.

But how much time has gone by since the bus crash, anyway? Meg wasn't visibly pregnant on the field trip.

I do want the abusiveness of Meg's parents to come out somehow, more than just Lamb knowing about the little girl in the closet -- I just don't want their craziness to come out by means of a Veronica-framed-for-murder story.

I have a question about Beaver's website. Is the Phoenix business something he's starting up in actuality, or is it just a theoretical school exercise? I know he asked Kendall to be the CEO, which sounds as it if's going to be a real business enterprise, but I also thought he might just be messing with Kendall and getting her hopes up only to deflate them.

The reason I thought it might just be a school exercise is because when he asked Mac to help him, Mac told Beav he just was trying to get her to do his school homework for him.

The whole point of the Beaver-Kendall interaction is that "Phoenix Enterprises" is Cassidy trying to be like his Dad. He's running a real estate company with Kendall as his front woman. When Mac figured it was his homework he did not disabuse her. It's not. That's where Kendall comes in. He's paying her and using her in his scam just like his Dad did.

Because ... wait for it ... his parents, neither of them, taught him right from wrong or gave him positive role models. Absent any other input he's just like them. That's IMHO what RT is saying about the 09'er world.

Did you catch his muted threat to Kendall? He doesn't want sex with her; just a front-woman. So she doesn't have power over him. Beav is far more dangerous than Dick Jr. because he has a brain. But unlike Mac whom we've seen there are things she won't do (last season) Beav seems intent on following his Dad's spectacularly bad example.

Meg? Likely pregnant from her ... father given how the parents are made to be religious (and thus evil). That was probably what was in the note. It also fits Duncan's need to be the good-guy "rescuer" for damsels in distress after his sister's murder. I could well see Duncan rescuing Meg simply because he could not rescue Lilly.

What you said about Beav developing the Phoenix Enterprises website and just letting Mac think it was a school exercise actually makes sense. I think Beav is trying to set up a real business.

But unlike his father, he may be trying to set up an honest business. How do you know for sure that he is just repeating his father's dishonest ways? I see Beav as the nicer of the two Casablancas brothers. Your character interpretation of Beav is really off IMO.

Also, I thought you had declared that the VM show is essentially "dead" (i.e. morally bankrupt). Yet here you are attributing deep moral messages to the scripting of Beav, etc.

Which is true?
