What's Wrong with the BSMFFL?

Fact: The Commish these days is nothing more than cannon fodder. Granted, much grief is self inflicted, but increasingly, why would anyone want to step up and do it?
According to the "Board", and others, a commish has nothing better to do than get out a grammatically correct,spell checked, rosters checked, transactions accurately produced, dynamic, eye popping, in color production on a weekly basis, by no later than Tuesday afternoon after the last score is recorded. No mistakes are permitted. Perfection is the standard. Thursday for the letter.....crucified. Friday...Oh my! Hell, the one that came out a week later, due to technical difficulties.....produced the best in- color rag a thon, ever sent.....shame that next commish never put that much effort into a whole two seasons afterward.
Opinion: If we want mostly perfect reporting, immediate transaction confirmation, up to date scoring, financials etc....it is time for CBS Sportsline/NFL.com, or any other web hosted service, and let the commish post a weekly column.
Scoring:
Fact: The changes this year, were voted in by a majority.(we think) The fact is, the impact has not been huge. If you want huge...go back to Paul's basement...when Groove dumped out the bomb that we still use mostly in tact today....15 minutes before draft. Some of us never saw it coming....some of us were roomates. It was so profound...we voted to make the 2 week rule. This years changes were minor and pale in comparison.
Opinion: If you don't like it, put it up to vote next year, and get it removed. No biggy. Democracy at work.
If everyone hates it so, I am sure it will be voted out.
Fact: We're all still friends even though we once took draft picks away for taking a piss, and not knowing who was drafted while we were gone.
Opinion: We have come a long way since.
Fact: Both, the original BSMFFL Trophy, and the Big Sexy one we have now are special. This used to be about having fun, talking smack, and sharing a bond over the years. The trophy was braggin rights. Draft night is still a special eve...the Mid winter is still a hoot for those that make it!
Opinion: No regrets...but maybe our bylaws need to reflect a smidge of flexibility. In 1990, most of us were brain damaged....single (except me), no kids, no kids sports, activites, serious career demands etc. Life was easy.
Fact: We have a weekly letter, produced timely, corrected timely, spelling mistakes and hanging chads to develop a belly laugh and produce smack board fodder. We are still going by hand (or CPU) even though most of us dont have the time to do so, and we still have a league.
Opinion:
Perhaps we need to just have some fun, and let the little things be just that....little things. There is no need to be selling franchise rights.
After all: four more weeks to some uncooked sausage and warm beer. But we're still hanging out, and having some good times. Let the good times roll. The 28th of October still comes around every year....and we are still here on God's green earth to enjoy it.
