Last time I checked, defenses celebrate every sack and every turnover -- and too often in a much over-celebrated way. And the defense typically plays half a game (except for the ravens where they often play three quarters). Our new defensive scoring system finally rewards a team for doing what they are supposed to do, and it finally counts for something -- rather than just the two or three times a year a jumped sideline route gets taken back to the house.

I personally like the new system, voted for it, and originally proposed similar ideas for numerous years before. Glad this group finally had enough initiative to pass it this year.

How can you actually defend that the old system was better? I suppose you don't like the yardage rule as well. Yea that idea sucks too. Lets see, my defense only gives up 150 yards and my opponent gives up 550, yet we scored the same defensively. The old system sucked. It was not even worth drafting a D or Sp team. It should have been called the "freak-of-luck" category. Now the defense is rewarded for what they actually do:

- Give up as little yardage as possible
- Get to the quaterback at any cost
- Take the ball away

The new system actually works, and works equally for all teams.
