Statewide Winners Honored on April 12


The Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) released today its nominees for its milestone 30th Anniversary Awards Show. Artists from around the state will be honored at the Awards ceremony on Monday, April 12. For the first time in WAMI history, the event will be held outside Milwaukee at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton. Tickets for the general public go on sale March 1 for $30 from Ticketmaster and through the Fox Cities PAC box office at 866-459-2035 or www.boxofficecenter.com.


The nominees are chosen by WAMI members throughout the state in 35 award categories. The list of awards categories and nominees for Wisconsin’s best musicians are:


Artist of the Year : Cory Chisel; Fever Marlene; Bon Iver; Kings Go Forth; and Danny Gokey.


New Artist of the Year: New Dog Trick; WhiskeyBelles; Pezzettino; Carrie Melton; and Jeanna Salzer
