I am so angry with the ignorant close-minded Swiss who voted yes. How stupid can you be? Apart from the blatant xenophobia it's just adding oil to the fire. It's the silliest idea ever, completely counterproductive, discriminatory, pointless and against human rights. Do the yes-voters even know it wasn't about the muezzin and salat but just about the architecture? It's infuriating!

Churchill was right, the best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.

that's very disappointing.

several religions...some more than the religion in question...have done more destruction and murder and their symbols are allllllllll over the damn place.

i guess people just can't see past fear...i don't know what it is...but i don't distrust a whole community of people and try to hide them or hide from them because of a minority of crazies.

i'm not gonna knock the swiss in general...cuz we're do crap like this. but people across the globe seem to be regressing.

That's not to say the US didn't have it's own painful history where immigration and race is concerned but meanwhile there have been decades of integration. America is based on being a melting pot you know?

Whereas immigration has been a slower process for Europe, and now people are freaking out over what strikes them as a Muslim take-over. It's terribly embaressing, these are suppost to be educated people from a democratic backround.

I agree with Andy , seems like stupidity is pretty global.

People should know though that the banners TDS showed were all from one of our many parties, most other parties, plus the parlament and the cabinet were against the initiative. I still don't understand how the average joe can be so stupid and allow his irrational fears to be played on. UGH
