One night we were lucky enough to be wandering the streets at about 1am, just as the aqua alta struck. Hardly anyone else was around, so we took loads of pictures around our apartment and St. Marks. The pictures don't quite get across how impressive it is; the walkways in some shots are needed as little bridges to get around, the water is so deep. The water bubbles up from beneath the paving, so it seems to just appear from nowhere. Very cool. Here's all the aqua alta pics.
