Subject: The Big Catch Up Poll

Thought it'd be nice to catch up a bit. I know I've not been around consistently, and I feel like I'm losing track of all the gossip. So, answer these basic questions, and then add an individual question for each boardie!

1. How's work? Got a promotion, changing jobs, annoying boss...?

2. How's the family?

3. How's the house? Happy where you're living? Want to move? Redecorating?

4. Got any holidays/vacations planned? If not, is there anywhere you want to go in the near future?

5. What are you reading at the moment? Want to recommend any books?

6. The same as above, for music!

------------------------------------

Now my individual questions - you all do your own versions of these.

Gretch: How's Jude? Getting along OK at school?

Andy: How are your kids doing? They're both off at Uni now, right? What are they studying?

Darren: Sorted out your living arrangements yet? You planning on staying sharing in Cambridge, or still planning to move to London? (And did you happen to find a little silver ring after I crashed at your place? I remember taking it off drunkenly before passing out, and forgetting to pick it up in the morning!)

Gabs: How's the love life? You had a crush on a guy a while back...

Tee: Anything new in your life these days? How's the nephew?

RJA: (Not a question for you, just a statement - that parcel arrived this morning!)

1. How's work? Got a promotion, changing jobs, annoying boss...?

Work is the same old same old y'know?, would love to change jobs but finances are a bit dicey at the moment so need security above everything else, as for annoying boss the bitch Dean is still tripping around on her stupid high heels and irritating the hell out of me!

2. How's the family?

For the most part they're ok, sister is off work with stress at the moment (tell me about it), she's in a deep deep funk and won't accept any help at all, I'm all out of patience with her, if she'd just listen to us a little bit I know we could help her but she doesn't want to be helped right now. Dad is fine, taking his lady friend to France for the weekend, lucky old devil! Kids are great, very proud of both of them, they've both worked hard this year with Uni and holding down part-time jobs too.

3. How's the house? Happy where you're living? Want to move? Redecorating?

I'm in two minds about the apartment now I'm on my own even though it was mine in the first place, I'm considering moving but just the thought of it puts me into panic mode so I need to wait until the right moment before I take the plunge, been looking around on websites and such so we'll see.

4. Got any holidays/vacations planned? If not, is there anywhere you want to go in the near future?

No holidays planned, not in the mood right now.

5. What are you reading at the moment? Want to recommend any books?

Girlie magazines preferably full of hunky men, that's all I can cope with at the moment, oh and The Secret of Crickley Hall by James Herbert, spooky!!

6. The same as above, for music!

Not really a music buff, just listen to my fav cd's sometimes depending on my mood, I like all sorts of music so just choose accordingly.

As I said above my kids are doing fine, Tina is studying Criminolgy with Psychology and Ian is studying Sociology, he got a little stressed out this year but he's ok now I'm glad to say, just had to get over a big hurdle but his personal lecturer was brilliant and helped him such a lot so I can stop fretting now, they've decided they're off to Canada for the summer so I won't be seeing much of them for a while :-(

[> ...you forgot Tracy. She'll kick your ass! -- Gabismo, 22:01:12 04/04/08 Fri [1] (83.222.155.191)

1. How's work? Got a promotion, changing jobs, annoying boss...?
-Same old, same old.

2. How's the family?
-We're all doing good.

3. How's the house? Happy where you're living? Want to move? Redecorating?
-Good, yes, no, no.

4. Got any holidays/vacations planned? If not, is there anywhere you want to go in the near future?
-Well, my sister Tiana and I plan to visit LA this summer and I think I might spend a weekend in Ticino (the Italian speaking part of Switzerland) with a girlfriend sometime this spring. It's a really gorgeous area and I've not been there nearly enough!

5. What are you reading at the moment? Want to recommend any books?
-Last book I read was Kleist's "Der Zerbrochene Krug". Not too fond of it. But I will continue to recommend "Everything Is Illuminated" until everyone I know has read it!

6. The same as above, for music!
-Right now I have Charlotte Martin "Veins" on repeat. It's eerily beautiful and such an awesome song, I can't get enough of it. http://www.box.net/shared/x1jlz2ggoc if you're interested.

As for the crush, it's gotten worse. Or better, depending on how you look at it. We've got so much in common and we have so much fun together, and I keep having to remind myself that I'm taken.

...I failed to notice that it wasn't just Gabs who didn't add their own questions.

So you're all failures.

Nyah.

1. How's work? Got a promotion, changing jobs, annoying boss...?

**same. no promotion. recession stressing us as they will probably downsize. i can and do do my boss's job in my sleep.

2. How's the family?

**meg's car broke down...twice...this week. $600 later... mom is missing jude and us bad. bad bad. dad got a promotion...a giant one...with no pay raise...due to recession downsizing at csc. he too is missing us bad. i guess my parents BOTH cried pretty bad at the airport the last time they left us (easter).

3. How's the house? Happy where you're living? Want to move? Redecorating?

**same place. i've really been eyeing homes. my parents would have to help me buy though. i framed a bunch of things. they look great. i would love to move though and paint some walls.

4. Got any holidays/vacations planned? If not, is there anywhere you want to go in the near future?

**next week is spring break. we're doing some dentist/doctor visits in the beginning of the week...then driving to DC the latter part of the week. i think we're going to try to find colbert's portrait at the smithsonian.

5. What are you reading at the moment? Want to recommend any books?

**i'm re-reading st augustine's confessions.

6. The same as above, for music!

**i'm into the new REM cd. DL'd some songs. dig 'em. and my guilty pleasure song right now is "no air"...i can't get it out of my head.

***jude has gotten straight A's all year. he has a small group of tight (goofy) friends. there's always drama with them though. *rolls eyes* he's managing and producing a "band" called the "drill boys". yeah. it's pretty hysterical. and he's starting baseball season...it'll be painful. basketball season certainly was. thanks for askin', babe.
