Subject: oh yeah...what the nephew did.

Clears throat. He's here a few Saturday's ago. I'm in bed. My light turns on. Joey my BF/housemate says, Theresa, wake up. 4 a.m.

She smelled smoke in the house and went downstairs and told Vince, "Vince, don't smoke in the house," and then spied someone hiding behind the door, red thong in view. All she said was "For God's sake." and turned and left and went to wake up me. So I look out the living room window and see his girlfriend putting on her shirt outside under the porch light. I wonder how many neighbors enjoyed that.

Then I see her trudge up the street. (She was staying with a relative a few blocks away.) I tell Joey that I'm not saying a thing until the morning. He needs to stew. My downstairs is like a private apartment. That's where I have my studio.

So I wake him up in the morning. He's supposed to do volunteer work at a soup kitchen for his high school stuff and I wake him up early and tell him that he needs to be at the place fairly soon...

He actually gets up without me asking 16 times. Comes upstairs. He normally has a great breakfast, eggs, toast, fresh squeezed orange juice, bacon, fruit, toast, coffee. Well, he has orange juice.

I tell him "there's orange juice in the fridge". Then it's quiet.

He looks like hell. Circles under his eyes, hasn't slept. I just launch into my rant.

"How stupid do you think I am? What were you thinking? That was disrespectful to me and your aunt. I am very disappointed in you. Is your friend having some hard times at home, no where to go? You were sneaky and I hate sneaky. I will not tell your mom because your mom would go ballistic, but there will be punishment. I don't know what yet, but there will be.

General slumping.

Then I told him I would walk with him to his community service job. It was his first day and I knew where it was. So we walked there in dead silence except for when I read him a few more riot acts.

Oh yeah, his girlfriend is only 14. I tell Vince that I heard a story on the radio that very week, where a 16 year old had sex with a 14 year old and got convicted as a sex offender. Duh!

Lord. I hate this little girlfriend. She is dumb and hyper-sexualized and her mom has no control over her.

We're in for a bumpy ride. My mom, his grandma has even said, "I just hope he doesn't get her pregnant." Scream!

grr..argh!

I never raised my voice. I was quiet and determined. Not mad. Just asking him what the hell was going on. sigh.

What did you really expect? He's a 16 year old boy. I'd have done exactly the same in his situation. And his girlfriend sounds hot -- lucky him. Are you sure that you're not just a little jealous that he's growing up and you might not be the only other girl apart from his mum in his life? It does sound like you overreacted a bit to me. You'd have been better off giving him a lecture about contraception.

I think it was quite disrespectful of him to invite anyone over after hours especially when it's not even his home. It sounds like he feels guilty enough already and the embarressment of getting caught will probably be holding him back a bit now. Unfortunately 16 year olds don't necessarily have the best taste in women so it looks like you're stuck with the silly 14 year old for a while! :-/

You know, I was watching some videos on women giving birth recently (Got 2 heavily pregnant women in my office, it's making me curious and broody) ... well it fricking killed my broodiness - that stuff's the best contraception out there! Invite his 14 year old girlfriend over, sit her in front of the computer and show her a few videos. She'll never have sex with him again, I promise!! ;o)

I once caught my thirteen year old son in his old tree house with a girl and they weren't playing jungle book I can tell you although they had got as far as discarding most of their clothes!! read him the riot act but it was just the first of many incidents over the years with both of them until they grew up and moved out, that's how it goes, you just hope that nothing will happen and they will get through the raging hormone stage unscathed. I agree that he was being disrespectful though by being sneaky like that in your house, that just shows immaturity and hopefully he will consider your feelings a little more now.

Ask for permission to sneak his girlfriend round for illicit sex? Doesn't anyone remember what it's like to be a teenager?! I'd be more concerned about whether he was using contraception.

I spent a large portion of it being pregnant and terrified.

You're right about the contraception though, he needs to understand the implications of not using any, I think Rachel's ideal of making the pair of them watch a baby being born is probably quite an effective way of bringing it home to them what it is all about.

'specially since she's f'n 14.

given that the underaged pregnancy rates have soured in the last 2 years. and i just read something about the fact that the US spends millions or billions on welfare for out of wedlock kids and moms...

it's my opinion...no sex until you have the maturity and paycheck to raise a kid.

lots of ways to get off without sex. and yer frickin' aunt's house isn't the place to do it.
