Subject: Induction week

at Uni this week, feeling a bit nostalgic to be honest, always a crazy, exasperating, busy, tiring but fun week for us in our department all the same. They did write to me and ask if I'd help out but I declined, apart from the fact that I'm very busy at the moment it just wouldn't have felt right, maybe I'm wrong and should have gone, I don't know.

I'm okay, I guess. It goes back and forth. I don't feel like I can properly grieve with anyone - none of my friends and family were as close to her as I was, or even knew her. And I never really got to meet her family, only saw them at the funeral last week. I miss her constantly.

And while it's nice to be back at Uni, most people just stare at me and don't know what to say. At least it's been pretty hectic lately so I'm distracted a bit.

I don't think you were wrong to decline, if you think I'd feel wrong then that sort of says it all, really.

not because they don't care but they just can't bring themselves say the words, if only they realised that all they have to say is "I'm sorry" that would make all the difference wouldn't it, maybe then you could tell them all about her and share your feelings.
