I haven't watched anything on my tv for a few weeks now, I'm like that sometimes I get fed up with it and find other things to occupy me but I think I'm ready to start again now. Terminator has already started here, think the first ep was last week, I also can't wait for Dollhouse its the most excited I've been over a new tv show for ages, I really want to get into it as I did with Buffy/Angel so fingers crossed.
I may even finish the first season of The Wire with a bit of luck!

I doubt they're showing eps in the UK *before* they air in the US -- DZR, 11:31:19 02/13/09 Fri [1] (62.240.244.114)
I mean, that would never happen. Terminator has been on mid-season hiatus in the US since before Christmas. It starts up again (in the US) tonight. I think the UK started the season much later and is just beginning to catch up.
I've been following the reviews of Dollhouse without getting spoiled. There was a lot of pressure on Joss from Fox to make the show accessible to new viewers. Apparently the first four or five episodes are very action packed, quite stand alone, and almost like four or five pilots in a row. Round about episodes 5 or 6 it apparently starts getting to be much more the kind of thing originally advertised (very noir, very psychological and philosophical, much darker, long complex character driven arcs). So I'm not expecting to be blown away at the begining. Nevertheless I am expecting to enjoy it and I'm really looking forward to it. I've loved just about everything he has ever done.

Now I'm confused (not difficult) -- andypandy, 11:42:20 02/13/09 Fri [1] (161.112.232.17)
but your probably right although I could have sworn all the advertising on cable was for the new series, ah well I'll investigate tonight and make sure
The reviews for Dollhouse seem to have been mixed, I can't remember the link now but one reviewer didn't seem all that happy with the first three eps, we'll see, knowing Joss it will all kick in eventually and we'll be as enthralled as ever, I love long arcs which is why I enjoyed series 4 Angel so much, couldn't wait till the next episode.

Yes, but was does "new series" mean in that context? -- DZR, 12:01:06 02/13/09 Fri [1] (62.240.244.114)
Season 2 of T:TSCC premiered in the US in September 2008. Then it went on mid-season break in December and is coming back tonight with episode 14 of season 2.
According to Wikipedia season 2 started in the UK in October 2008, then also went on a break over Christmas and returned last week. Which I reckon would still put the UK 2 or 3 episodes behind the US.
There is no way a US network show would air in the UK *before* it did in the US, because everyone would just BitTorrent it and the advertisers would go crazy.

Yep, all that makes sense -- andypandy, 12:07:35 02/13/09 Fri [1] (161.112.232.17)
I have to say I've enjoyed it so far, a weak start I thought but has really improved a lot and is now a must see prog, I thought Lena Headey was the weak link at first but she has come on in leaps and bounds and I'm now completely caught up in her character, I really hope it doesn't get cancelled, I love it, Summer Glau is awesome.

Yeah, Summer is what makes the show awesome -- DZR, 12:13:57 02/13/09 Fri [1] (62.240.244.114)
The writing is a little bit hit or miss, but Summer knocks it out of the park every single episode. Her performance is so subtle and nuanced that I am completely entranced by her. Obviously it helps that I think she is incredibly unbelievably hot too.

Even I think she's hot -- andypandy, 12:21:49 02/13/09 Fri [1] (161.112.232.17)
she should win awards for her performance, one minute I'm rooting for her and the next I'm afraid of her, the change in her persona is so subtle and scary
my son is completely totally and absolutely obsessed with her
